The design of my work here is stickers of cartoon faces playing around the various colors and subtle facial expressions.
In the very beginning, I hoped I could make something that has many parameters and options so it could bring the audiences with endless possibilities. Thus, I made the characters with changeable face size, eyes, mouth, and all the colors. I enjoyed a lot on the color matching. And here is the list of my parameters:
I used a lot of bezier() in my code. It is hard to use at the start but once I can control it, it is powerful and could draw curves beautifully. Besides, because it has two control points to change the curvature of the line, I could change these points to change the whole shape of the curve. I use this on changing the face size, eyes open, and smiling mouth.
Another thing I put a lot of attention on is the color palette. I gave each type of face a unique color palette for the hair and make-up colors. I am happy to see all the different colors matched and create something interesting.
On the design of the arrangement page, I made my faces become a sticker card. I think the theme of stickers is suitable for the cartoon style. I like the background colors very much. The cute and peachy colors remind me of the word “childhood” which matches the “stickers”. I tried to make my stickers to animate in more than one way, but failed in the end.
Overall, I enjoyed the project a lot. Though I am failed to make the animation, I am happy with this final work now. I would like to thank my lecturer, tutors and all the people helped me.
